Construction is now underway on a new purpose-built Patient Transfer Facility at Gladstone Airport, marking a significant investment in regional health infrastructure.

The $5 million facility will support more than 700 aeromedical transfers each year, improving coordination for emergency services and creating a more comfortable, dignified experience for patients and their families.

The project will deliver:

• A dedicated facility designed specifically for aeromedical transfers
• Faster, more efficient coordination for ambulance and flight crews
• A private, supportive space for patients and families
• Sustainable infrastructure, including off-grid solar and battery storage
• Strong collaboration between government, industry and local businesses
