Gladstone Airport is a Tier 2 Security Controlled Airport and therefore there are many security procedures and preventative measures in place. All these measures are to safeguard the travelling public, and it is important that we all abide by the security requirements.
An Aviation Security Identification Card (ASIC) is a form of airport identification that is evidence you have a valid background check and allows you to be approved to conduct unsupervised work in an airside or sterile area. It is required to be worn at all times and valid for up to two years.
There are different types of ASICs; red, grey and white. You can talk to your employer about the appropriate ASIC for your role.
An ASIC does not automatically give you access to secure areas of the airport. You will need to apply for access separately, scroll down to the Building & Carpark Access Form
A VIC is required by any person that does not hold an ASIC and requires access to a secure and/or airside area.
VIC holders must be escorted by an ASIC holder whilst in secure areas or airside at all times.
A visitor may only be issued with a VIC on 28 occasions in a 12-month period.
If you require a VIC you must present current and valid original government issued identification that contains your photo and signature (i.e. drivers licence, passport).
Gladstone Airport Corporation manages the secure access to all parts of the terminal and the carpark. If you need to have access to the terminal, please complete the below Building & Carpark Access Form – depending on your employment requirements, access will be granted to the appropriate areas.
