Airside Vehicle Control

Airside vehicle control at Gladstone Airport is essential to maintaining the safety and efficiency of aircraft and ground operations. All vehicle movements within airside areas must comply with established procedures, signage, and designated access routes to minimise risk and avoid interference with aircraft operations. Only authorised vehicles are permitted airside, and all drivers must operate with heightened awareness of their surroundings, including aircraft, personnel, and other vehicles. Strict adherence to speed limits, right-of-way rules, and radio communication protocols is required at all times to ensure a safe operating environment.

Authority to Drive Airside (ADA)

Any person operating a vehicle in the airside zones of Gladstone Airport must first obtain an Authority to Drive Airside (ADA) by filling in the form below. This licence confirms the driver has completed the required training and demonstrated an understanding of airside safety rules, driving protocols, and airport-specific procedures. The ADA process includes both theoretical and practical components, ensuring drivers are fully equipped to navigate the complex airside environment safely. ADA holders must maintain current certification and comply with all conditions of use while operating vehicles within restricted areas.

Note: ADA licences are valid for two years, however for security reasons, they are issued in line with ASIC validity. If you cease to hold a full Red ASIC, your ADA licence will be voided, regardless of the expiry date of your ADA. If you are then reissued with a full Red ASIC, your ADA will be revalidated until the date of expiry printed on your ADA licence.
It is both the applicant and vehicle operator’s responsibility to ensure only drivers able to produce a current ADA licence/card are permitted to drive airside.
